On The Snow
Updated 2.09.10
Six days before Valentine’s Day and Six inches of POWDER! Yours truly has been out skiing all day, making fresh tracks all over the place. The snow has just picked up again and another inch is expected to fall. I have to tell all of you that this is some of the best skiing I have experienced in a while. Looking down at where my ski tips should be and only seeing snow is an awesome thrill.
The rest of this week and this coming President’s weekend will be some of the best snow conditions that a skier or rider could ask for. There is new snow everywhere and it doesn’t look like it is leaving anytime soon. My personal favorite is our run called “Bobcat.” Due to all the trees we are unable to make snow on that run. Therefore the only time to ski it is NOW!
I have attempted to put a video on youtube called; “Paoli Peaks Bobcat” but I have no idea what I’m doing. Be on the lookout for it. I will figure it out.
Don’t forget! This Sunday, February 14th, Paoli Peaks is hosting THINK PINK Day. Visit Paoli Peaks wearing solid piece of clothing to receive a Buy 1 Get 1 FREE voucher to use the next time you visit. We’ve got lots of fun activities planned; All design to help raise money for the Orange County Good Samaritan Fund to benefit the local breast cancer patients. So come on out to Paoli Peaks to help raise money and have lots of Fun. Think Pink Flyer
Also on Sunday, is our Ride for Love Rail Jam. What’s great about this competition is it’s perfect for both beginners and experts. The comp will be help in our BONK section. Immediately following the competition, our very own Park Staff will be putting on a demonstration. We will also be selling a spectator pass for $5. Anyone who doesn’t have a lift ticket, but wants to watch the competition can purchase the spectator pass. Ride for Love Flyer
Turn on the Winter Olympics for the little ones (and big ones), and then bring them up here so they can pretend they are going for the gold!!!

Hello Again—
Snowmaking has resumed as of 1/26/10. We made some new snow Tuesday night, had to shut down Wednesday, and turned the guns back on Thursday evening. There is still plenty of Snow at the Peaks. The plan is to keep adding through the weekend. (Fun Fact: Paoli Peaks last made snow on the 6th of Jan before this last make. That’s 20 days of no snowmaking.) Normally that long of a stretch might be a problem, but this season Mother Nature has kept it cold enough for the snow to remain without adding more.
The terrain Park enjoyed its first competition of the season. Jibs, Jumps, and Doughnuts was a big success. It was probably the warmest day of the season but that did not stop the 40 competitors from showing their stuff off. Keep checking the website for upcoming events. Feb 14th is the Ride for Love. Feb. 20th is the unnamed Big Air competition.
New this season is the Discover lesson program. I have received many wonderful comments from customers who have absolutely loved this lesson. It is the same price as a one hour group lesson, but it allows you the ability to learn at your own pace. (Only offered on weekends and holidays as long as there is enough people here taking lessons) Join the lesson at 11:00am, eat lunch around noon, and rejoin the lesson. (Don’t forget the mandatory 30 minutes after you eat rule that our mothers taught us) Check the lessons page for more info.
The weather is looking wonderful for this weekend, so come join us on the slopes and tube hill and breath in that crisp air.

Hello All –
It has been a while since my last post due to the fact that I have been out on the slopes enjoying some premiere conditions. We have snow on snow and the Terrain Park construction is currently underway. Keep an eye on the Snow Report for the opening of the 5 Star Park.
I have had many patrons come up to me and tell me that the current conditions are the best they have ever been on or darn close to it. We have 10-20ft tall gentle rollers that are an absolute blast to play on. We have been blessed with a nice cold stretch that is due to stick around for a few more days.
It is my understanding that the roads leading to the Peaks are mostly cleared off from our recent snow fall. Our capable and friendly staff awaits your arrival.
See you soon!

Merry Christmas!!!
I woke up this morning to 50 degree temps, rain, and no new pajamas. By 2pm this afternoon I had temps falling into the low 30’s, snow flurries, and new (paper Mario) pj’s. All-in-all… not a bad Christmas day.
The temperature will continue to fall throughout the night, and we will be making some new snow for the holiday week ahead of us. All of our terrain remained open through the brief warm up, and our hope is to make it much deeper this week.
Snowmaking will primarily take place during the overnight hours 12/26 thru the New Year. So far the weather forecast looks great for skiing, riding, or tubing this week. So grab the family and the camera and come join us at Paoli Peaks for some holiday cheer!

Hello All –
Well the 2009/10 season is upon us! Mother Nature has given us some cold weather and we have been able to make a ton of snow. We are proud to announce that we are opening a week earlier than anticipated. (Dec 12th 9:00am)
This weekend should have some beautiful skiing and boarding weather. Let’s not leave out tubing either. I anticipate 4-5 lanes of tubing excitement getting underway at 10am. Check the Arctic Blast Snow Tubing page for new tubing hours.
I look forward to seeing all of you out here for some winter fun!!

Dear All –
It is December 1st and frost is on the ground! The 2009-2010 season is just around the corner. We at Paoli Peaks have worked hard during the off-season to prepare for this winter. The tentative opening date is December 19th at 9am as long as Mother Nature cooperates. We are keeping our eye to the sky and hoping for cold.
This will be my first season at Paoli Peaks. I came from a sister Peak Resort, Snow Creek, in Weston, MO near Kansas City.  I am extremely excited to get the 32nd season underway! We have made a couple of adjustments here and there to hopefully create a great experience for every visitor from beginner to advanced.
Continue to visit paolipeaks.com for updates and announcements.
Think Snow!!!
