Your Arrival
Arrival Procedures:
The ticket windows are located inside the lodge through the Main Entrance Doors (2nd level) where you can purchase snow passes, rental equipment, lessons, and Paoli Peaks retail.
Our Point-of-Sale system requires our cashiers to enter information a certain way. When at the ticket windows, it is helpful if you start with the first person providing the following information before moving on to the next person in your group:
- Type of snow pass (required): - Adult (13+), Child (7-12), 6 & Under
- Need Rental Equipment? (optional, but necessary if you don't have your own.)
- Need Helmet Rental? (optional)
- Taking a Lesson? (optional) If so, which type? (group, private, semi-private, snow monsters, adaptive)
EXAMPLE: "Hello, I need to purchase tickets for 4 people. The first is an adult who needs rental. The second is also an adult who needs rental and would like to take a lesson. (If you know what lesson type, specify at that time. If not, the cashier will help you decide which one would be best for you) Next, I have child who is 8. She/He needs rental and a lesson. And last, I have 6 year old who only needs rental."
- A snow pass is required for each person who will be on the snow, as well as, renting equipment and taking a lesson.
- A snow pass includes access to the snow and the use of all lifts.
- Lessons can be purchased at any time, however we recommend purchasing at the same time you purchase your snow pass and/or rental equipment.
- Please be aware, Paoli Peaks rental department cannot rent only boots or only skis/snowboard; our rental must be paired together. No worries, though, if you have one and not the other (boots and not skis) the Pro Shop can help you out. If you are renting equipment from the Pro Shop, you must purchase a snow pass (without rental) first.
After receiving your snow pass, place it on something you will wear all day and will be visible to our lift attendants. We recommend your jacket or snow pants zipper. How to attach a lift ticket It is important to make sure the right ticket is on the right person.
Equipment Procedures:
The rental area is located to the left of the ticket windows. Be sure to have your snow pass attached before going into the rental department.
Skiing Equipment - ski boots and skis are located in the first room of the rental department. Children's ski boots are located in a second room on your left once you enter the rental department.
- Pick out your boots, sizes generally match foot in a dress shoe.
- Find a spot on the benches and try them on. We recommend only one pair of socks, otherwise the boots may be too tight. Adjust all the buckles, make sure they are snug, but not too tight, that they hurt your feet.
- Coin lockers are available to store your shoes and other belongings. We suggest storing most of your belongings in a locker, most importantly car keys, cell phones (if you don't need it), and wallets (keep a few bucks on you). Those items are most likely to end up in Lost & Found.
- Proceed to the counter to pick up your skis or snowboard. Let the technician know your boarding ability (beginner, intermediate, advanced). You will be asked your height and weight so the equipment will be properly fitted to you. For Children's skis, a Rental employee will fit your child with skis once boots have been picked out and put on.
Snowboard Equipment - Boots and snowboards are located in the snowboard room on the opposite side of the ski rental room.
- Give the rental employee your shoe size (sizes generally match foot in a dress shoe).
- Find a spot on the benches and try them on. We recommend only one pair of socks, otherwise the boots may be too tight. Lace the boots up, make sure they are snug, but not too tight so that they hurt your feet. Smaller children may need help lacing their boots in order to require the correct tightness.
- Coin lockers are available to store your shoes and other belongings. We suggest storing most of your belongings in a locker, most importantly car keys, cell phones (if you don't need it), and wallets (keep a few bucks on you). Those items are most likely to end up in Lost & Found.
- Proceed to the counter to pick up your snowboard. Let the technician know your boarding ability (beginner, intermediate, advanced). You will be asked your height and weight so the equipment will be properly fitted to you. You may need to re-lace as boots will loosen throughout the day.
Take A Lesson:
Before taking a lesson, you must first purchase a lesson at the Ticket Windows. Lesson Times vary by day of the week so its a good idea to plan accordingly. When it is time for your lesson, meet with the Instructors at Snow Sports meeting place...Located on the east side of the building out on the snow (in between the Quad and the Triple Lift). Whether you chose to ski or snowboard, we have the lesson for you! The beginner lesson will teach you how to turn, stop, and when & how to use the lifts at Paoli Peaks.
What to do if you:
- Need a restroom? Restrooms are located on the 2nd floor - adjacent to the Ticket Windows (through double doors at the base of the stairs), opposite the Rental Department, and next to the Snow Monsters Room. Single-Stall restrooms are also located on the 3rd level ( the dinning "fireplace" room) for wheelchair access only.
- Need First Aid? Report accidents to any uniformed Patroller (red jacket or balck vest with a white "plus" sign), lift attendant, or at the First Aid station located at the northwest corner of the Lodge (1st level, outside entrance only).
- Need lunch? Located on the 3rd floor is our cafeteria-style restaurant, Starbucks coffee stand & smoothies, 2 large dinning rooms, and a bar & lounge for 21+ crowd. Our cafeteria includes a Pizzeria with homemade pizza, deli sandwiches, soups, fried foods, hamburgers/hotdogs/chicken sandwiches, etc, hot chocolate & coffee, packaged snacks, fountain drinks and bottled drinks.
- Need a Wheelchair Ramp? A wheelchair accessible ramp is located on the east (right) side of the building, accessible from the upper parking lot. The ramp will take you to our dining room located on the 3rd floor. There are 3 handicap parking spots next to the ramp.
- Are separated from your Party? Notify the Front Office (located on the 4th floor, accessible from the "fireplace" dining room) of the missing person. Office Personnel will have the lift department put the missing person's name on the message boards (dry erase boards) located at each of the chair lifts unloading areas. The Front Office may also seek assistance from Ski Patrol. It's a good idea to discuss with your party a meeting place and the locations of the message boards, just incase someone gets separated from the rest of the group.
